RS Christmas Party

Just a reminder that our ward Christmas Progressive Dinner is tomorrow (thursday) dec. 3rd at 6:30 pm. You don't want to miss it. Meet at Marti Woodworth's house. Bring a christmas ornament with you for an exchange. See you there!

Prepardness Fair

I went to the prepardness fair yesterday and they had some good ideas. I just wanted to share some of them.

TT Heaters. Materials needed: unused quart paint can and lid, 1 roll cheap bathroom tissue, isopropyl alcohol, matches, small coin.

Instructions:1. remove the lid with the coin 2. fill can on top of tissue with isopropyl alcohol 3. place lid tightly on can to prevent evaporation until use 4. tape the instructions, the coin and book of matches to the outside of the quart can. To use: open the lid using the coin and light the tissue with the match to create heat.

PREPAREDNESS FAIR…….YOU WON’T WANT TO MISS THIS!!!!!

The Paradise Stake Emergency Preparedness Fair will be

Saturday, November 14 at the Palora Building

( 1725 Palora Ave - cross streets Desert Inn and Eastern)

from 9:00 until 12:00.


There will be booths with such items as gardening, communications, sprouting, cleaning, 72 hour kits, canning, food storage and rotation, shelter in place, pet care, automotive kits, using alternative flours, food storage, legal documents, Clark County fire department, Metro, Red Cross, water purification, etc. Additionally there will be classes on cooking with wheat, disaster preparedness, usage and storage of oils, first aid, communication devices, drying and freezing, energy bars, canning, cooking with alternative flours, cooking with alternative fuel sources, food storage for singles, and more. Bring the family and a bag to collect lots of good information.

Later than afternoon Dan and Shannon Pointer will be having a sun oven demonstrating and alternative cooking demo at my house
Around 2:30pm
Come by and learn more about alternative cooking and sun oven cooking and taste some yummy treats!!!
We will also be having a sale on lots of items (which ones you ask??? You just have to come & find out)

Relief Society Christmas Party!

The RS Christmas Party will be on December 3rd (thursday). So mark your Calendars so you will be able to attend. The Christmas party is always great fun and a good chance to meet new sisters. I always get excited to go to the Christmas Party! More info to be come.
